10AM-12PM: Hip openers in standing and sitting poses
In the past, for yoga practitioners, asana practice aimed to achieve a greater stability and comfort in Padmasana (Lotus Pose). However, in modern society, people tend to slouch in chairs for long periods of time. This has lead to a lack of mobility and flexibility in the hips, which causes lower back pain. In this class, Heidi will guide you through hip-openers with correct and efficient alignment and also show you how to avoid common knee injuries and ankle injuries. By opening the hips, students will learn to unite prana and apana, awakening the energy in the pelvic floor.
2PM - 4PM :Twists and Binds
Twists play a key role in facilitating the next pose, such as backbends or forward bends. They require both effort and surrender in order to gracefully combine the spirals and extensions. In this class, students will also try some interesting arm bindings, a great opportunity to experience amazing integration of inner-spirals, outer-spirals, and twists in various poses.
